I started my career as a quant researcher, doing a lot of work with quantitative stock selection, research, modeling, handling big data, and natural language processing.
Then I built a team to focus on quantitative portfolio management. It is about portfolio optimization, risk management, implementation, research, trading costs, and taxes. It is incorporating conceptual abstract alpha ideas into the real world.
Combined with my background in accounting and taxes, I am always interested in the intersection between taxes and investments and portfolio optimization. From that passion, we developed our tax-loss harvesting strategy which is a very popular strategy among taxable investors.
What I learned along the way is in order to gain tax efficiency a one size fits all approach does not work. We recognize the fact that each client has different asset allocation preferences. They have different tax situations."

Quantinno applies a singular focus to enhancing the after-tax wealth of its investors. They offer the next evolution of tax-loss harvesting strategies, available in fully customizable separately managed accounts that can be responsive to each investor’s individual situation. They believe Quantinno can be valuable in reinvigorating existing tax-loss harvesting strategies that may be approaching the end of their useful life, diversifying concentrated stocks as an alternative to exchange funds, creating tax alpha from existing holdings (public equities/ETFs/mutual funds), and improving the after-tax results of private credit, operating businesses, or real estate holdings.
